El Bahia Palace is a masterpiece of traditional Moroccan architecture, located in the city of Marrakech. The building dates back to the nineteenth century, and its construction is to be attributed to the architect Muḥammad al-Makkī, commissioned by Si Musa, a former slave who became vizir of the Alawite sultan Ḥasan I. The building consists of about 150 rooms richly decorated with marble, beech and cedar wood and zellige stucco. Today the palace is open to visitors, concerts of Arab-Andalusian music and art exhibitions are held there.
