Koutoubia Mosque

The largest mosque in Marrakesh Koutoubia Mosque

The Koutoubia mosque is the most important religious building in the city of Marrakech. The mosque, whose construction dates back to 1120, consists of a hall used for prayer that can accommodate up to 20,000 faithful, and is divided into 17 naves.

The entire building was restored in 1990, with respect for the original work, under the authority of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture.
