The island of Tsarabanjina is located in the northwestern part of Madagascar, about 40 miles offshore from the port of Nosy Bé. This now uninhabited island has only 25 thatched-roof bungalows nestled in a tropical jungle overlooking soft sand beaches and crystal clear water. Tsarabanjina hides an important historical treasure, the sacred tomb of Sakalava, the king of the Mitsio islands (the archipelago to which Tsarabanjina belongs), still venerated today by the local population.
