Route nationale 7 is a national road in Madagascar that connects Antananarivo to Toliara. On its journey from north to south, about 900 km long, it touches the cities of Ambatolampy, Antsirabe, Ambositra, Ambohimahasoa, Ambalavao, Fianarantsoa, Ihosy, Sakaraha, crossing the vast region of the central highlands, between the rice fields and the characteristic villages of the Merina ethnic groups and Betsileo, to then enter the arid southwestern regions through the thorn forest and the villages of the Bara, until reaching the sea at Toliara. The road, almost entirely paved, is very busy, especially by tourists.
