The Temple was built on the shores of Lake Como in 1927 on the occasion of the celebrations of the centenary of the death of Alessandro Volta. Inside there are busts, bas-reliefs and relics of Alessandro Volta. A visit to Como is unthinkable without passing through the Tempio Voltiano. Designed by Federico Frigerio, it has the shape of a neoclassical temple with a quadrilateral plan, preceded by a large Corinthian pronaos with the statues of Faith and Science by Carlo and Luigi Rigola, inside a vast circular room surmounted by a high dome.
