The oratory of S. Maria Maddalena has been inextricably linked to the ancient medieval hospice for pilgrims since its origins. This has been witnessed since 1169 when the oratory, mentioned in a document notarized on the island, is called: “S. Mary Magdalene and hospitale". Inside the church there are portions of paintings, including the fresco in the apse depicting the constellations or the one representing some members of the Giovio family offering themselves to the Virgin surrounded by saints, dating back to the 16th century.
