The Tower of David (also known as the Citadel of David) is one of the most important monuments in Jerusalem. The tower visible today, located near the Jaffa Gate in the Old City, was originally built in the 2nd century AD. B.C. to strengthen the military defenses of the city. The tower was later destroyed and rebuilt several times. The Citadel Museum brings Jerusalem's history to life and offers temporary exhibitions and activities for visitors of all ages.
