The Garden Tomb

Memorial Jerusalem, Israel

In a setting of well-kept gardens and trees The Garden Tomb

The Garden Tomb is a site of Christian worship and testimony located in the heart of historic Jerusalem, just outside the Old City walls. Within this peaceful and contemplative garden are several antiquities of interest, including an ancient Jewish tomb which many believe is the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.

Real cool place. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can also request to take communion with your group after your tour.

MUST-SEE. Incredibly spiritual Christian site. This site is calm, peaceful, and beautiful. This is a traditional spot (one of two) for the most important event in the world: the Resurrection of the Savior Jesus Christ. Whether you feel it was actually here or in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, it is definitely worth a visit.

Showed up unannounced, and immediately met an excellent American English guide who gave a great personal tour. One would probably benefit from a reservation during peak tour season in early Fall and late Spring, and on Saturdays. Free entry and tour. Beautiful and serene gardens around the tomb. Great view of Golgatha. Less than an hour to tour and peruse their affordable gift shop if not crowded. Very different experience from the ancient churches elsewhere in Israel. Highly recommended!!
