The Pool of Betzaeta, the place of the miraculous healing of the paralytic by Jesus, as narrated in the Gospel of John, is a complex site. It is believed to have been a "mikveh" or ritual bath. As a place where one of Jesus' miracles took place, chapels and churches were built in the vicinity of the Pool of Betzaeta in successive periods, which are still visible today.
