The Ses Salines Natural Park is a symbolic nature reserve of the place, shared by Ibiza and Formentera. The natural park area extends from the south of Ibiza to the north of Formentera, with 3,000 hectares of land and 13,000 hectares of sea, hosting a total of 178 plant and 210 bird species Since 1995 it has been considered a nature reserve, while since 2001 it has been a natural park protected by the government of the Balearic Islands.
