With over 4000 tombs from all over the Mediterranean, this necropolis is considered the largest in the world. The archaeological site was founded by the Phoenicians in the 7th century, quickly reaching an area of 10,000 m2. In this open-air museum, the exhibition is organized in five halls and covers the entire period of use of the necropolis. From the question of death in the Phoenician period, including funeral rites, burials and cenotaphs, to Punic funeral rites. Since 1999, the necropolis of Puig des Molins has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Ibiza, Biodiversity and Culture".
