Esplanade, colloquially known as Espa, is an esplanade and urban park in central Helsinki, Finland, located between Erottaja Square and the Market Square. Streets of Pohjoisesplanadi (North Esplanadi) and Eteläesplanadi (South Esplanadi) streets, respectively. Aleksanterinkatu runs parallel to Esplanadi. Designed by architect Carl Ludwig Engel, in 1827, Engels Teater, Helsinki's first theater building, also designed by Engel, was erected in a corner of the park.
