The minor basilica of Maria Consolatrice in the Mariatrost district of Graze on the top of the Purberg hill is one of the main Marian shrines in the Land of Styria frequented by pilgrims from all over Europe. The statue of Maria delle Grazie kept in the heart of the Baroque church is the object of intense devotion and the faithful who have taken a vow of penance climb the 216 steps that lead to the square of the basilica. Inside, attention is paid to the splendid frescoes and the suggestive pulpit.
