The square Am Eisernen Tor is a triangular square between Opernring and Herrengasse in the first inner city of Graz and takes its name from the old city gate. Important attractions are the Fountain (1928) by Tassilo Hüller and the Marian Column. Between 2003 and 2007, the so-called Marienlift was located directly next to the Mariensäule.
