Meet the David of Michelangelo Galleria dell'Accademia

The Galleria dell'Accademia is a museum in Florence, located in via Ricasoli. The museum, fourth in Italy by number of visitors after the Uffizi, exhibits the largest number of sculptures by Michelangelo in the world (seven), including the famous David.

The Gallery also houses other sections, including the world's largest and most important collection of pictorial works with a gold background, and the Museum of Musical Instruments, where many artifacts belonging to the historical collection of the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory are exhibited. In 2016, the museum circuit of the Accademia Gallery and Museum of Musical Instruments recorded 1,461,185 visitors.
