City Croatia, Croatia

The Capital Zagreb

Zagreb (in Croatian Zagreb, pronunciation [ˈzɑːgrɛb]); is the capital and largest city of Croatia, with almost 800,000 inhabitants. Zagreb, in addition to being the largest city in the country, is the cultural, scientific, religious, political and administrative center of the Republic of Croatia, a crossroads of international communication routes.

Zagreb is the seat of the central state bodies (the Parliament, the President of the Republic, the Government and the Prime Minister, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court) and practically all ministries. It is also the seat of the university (the University of Zagreb, the Croatian Catholic University, the Libertas International University, high schools, polytechnics) and the metropolitan archdiocese (the archdiocese of Zagreb with suffragan dioceses in Varasdino, Sisak, Bjelovar and the Greek-Catholic eparchy in Križevci of Byzantine rite).
