Liberland, is a micronation claiming an uninhabited parcel of disputed land on the west bank of the Danube, between Croatia and Serbia. The nation arose out of a dispute between Croatia and Serbia; the latter in fact believes that the Danube river represents the border between the two countries, while Croatia believes that the cadastral municipalities along the river are the real border. The state was proclaimed for the first time on 13 April 2015 by Czech right-wing Libyan politician and activist Vít Jedlička.
