Calva Island (in Croatian Goli Otok), is an island of Croatia in the Adriatic Sea. The island is located 3.3 km from the Croatian coast, from which it is separated by the Morlacca channel (Velebitski kanal), and communicates with Kvarnerolo from the western side. it became sadly famous after the Second World War, as the site of a concentration camp in Yugoslavia. The Bald Island, is so called because of its appearance, it is in fact a small rocky island beaten by the bora and almost devoid of vegetation.
