The statue, an imposing and suggestive structure in reinforced concrete, is leaned against a spur of rock and overlooks the homonymous beach. Made in 1910 by the architect Francesco Levacher and the sculptor Arrigo Minerbi, 14 meters high and weighing 170 tons, it depicts Neptune. The statue, which adorned Villa Pastine together with a large shell-shaped terrace, was ruined by the bombings of the Second World War.
