This planetarium is a public museum focused primarily on the study of astronomy and astrophysics. Established in 1930, it was the first planetarium in the United States. Inside the Adler you can find three theaters, space science exhibits, and several astronomical instruments. This Lake Michigan observatory is the only place in Chicago where the public can see planets, stars and galaxies up close and in person.
