Located in Écuillé, the castle of Plessis-Bourré, a magnificent 15th century building surrounded by moats with water, was the backdrop for numerous films such as "The Fabulous Story of Donkey Skin", "The Knight of Lagardère" and "Fanfan the Tulip". The keep, the towers, the drawbridges, the patrol path, the fortified gates and the large moats make it a real fortress. However, with its architectural details heralding the Renaissance and richly decorated rooms, the Château de Plessis-Bourré is also a country house. Inside, the splendid wooden ceiling of the Sala delle Guardie, painted with characters and animals, arouses great admiration.
