In reality, the lighthouse is not a real beach, but a rocky bay from which to dive into the always clean sea. What makes it a long-loved spot is the imposing silhouette of the lighthouse that stands out at the tip and the ability to enjoy the sun from sunrise to sunset. The Punta Carena lighthouse is the second largest in Italy in terms of lighting power (after Genoa), as well as being one of the oldest: it was lit for the first time in 1867.
