Villa Aldrovandi Mazzacorati is a historic building, in neoclassical style, built on the outskirts of Bologna at the end of the 18th century by the Marescotti family and then passed on to the Aldrovandi and Mazzacorati families. Since the last decades of the 1700s, there has been a small theater in the villa, which was central to the development of the Italian theater between the 18th and 19th centuries. From the second half of the 1900s, the building, now publicly owned, was used as a offices and clinics of the health and social services of the city of Bologna. The theater is preserved and is still occasionally used for performances.
