The fountain of Neptune, nicknamed al Żigànt in dialect (the giant in Italian) by the Bolognese due to the size of the statue of Neptune, is located in Bologna in Piazza del Nettuno. Fruit of the collaboration between Zanobio Portigiani, Tommaso Laureti and Giambologna, the work was commissioned by the vice-legate Pier Donato Cesi to glorify the papal government of Pope Pius IV and was completed in 1566.
