The Pergamon Museum is one of the most important archaeological museums in Germany and the world, visited by approximately 850,000 people annually, located on Museum Island on the River Spree in Berlin. It takes its name from the ancient Hellenistic city of Pergamum in Anatolia (today in Turkey), from which most of the exhibited works come.
Undoubtedly the most important work it contains is the Pergamon Altar, one of the main attractions of the museum. But the market gate of Mileto is also an important attraction, in addition to the various exhibitions of ancient statues, columns and period friezes.
