Kurfürstendamm is a boulevard in Berlin. 3.5 km long, it connects Breitscheidplatz to Rathenauplatz, crossing the town hall of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Today a luxurious shopping street, the Kurfürstendamm experienced a period of such splendor between 1900 and the advent of the III Reich that it retained a strong symbolic value in the popular imagination.
On the Kurfürstendamm there were and still are concentrated luxury cafés, popular clubs, art galleries, theaters and variety halls.
