The National Art Museum of Catalonia, also known by its acronym MNAC, is located in the city of Barcelona and boasts one of the most complete collections of Romanesque art in the world. Initially born in 1990 from the union of the collections of the Museu d'Art Modern and the Museu d'Art de Catalunya (existing since 1934), a new section of numismatics, one of engravings and part of the Biblioteca General de Historia of the Art. Today the museum has about 250,000 works and, in addition to temporary and traveling exhibitions, it also has the functions of studying, conserving and restoring works of art.
