The Fundació Joan Miró is located in Barcelona and has some of the most representative works of the Catalan painter Joan Miró. It contains more than 10,000 pieces including paintings, sculptures and tapestries, as well as various drawings and sketches. The idea of creating a foundation was born in 1968 by Joan Miró himself who wanted to transform it into an element that would guarantee the possibility of knowing the trends in contemporary art, as well as allowing his works to always be available to the public.
