The Illa de la Discòrdia is one block off Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Spain. The neighborhood is known for the buildings of four of Barcelona's most important modernist architects: Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Antoni Gaudí, Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Enric Sagnier, in the immediate vicinity. As the styles of the four architects were very different, the buildings (all dating from the 20th century) clash with each other and with neighboring buildings.
Illa de la Discordia, also called Manzana de la Discordia, takes its name from the double meaning in Spanish of the term manzana, which stands for both apple and block (or, precisely, block of buildings) and refers to the myth of the apple of the discord.
