Trunyan village is located on the edge of Lake Batur which makes this place accessible only after about 1.5 hours by boat. The most curious thing about this village is the burial tradition. In contrast to other places on the island, in fact, the inhabitants of Trunyan do not cremate the bodies of their deceased. The dead are placed outdoors, inside bamboo cages under a sacred tree, the Banyan, leaving the task of decomposing the bodies to nature.
