Tirta Gangga is a former royal palace in eastern Bali, Indonesia. Literally, Tirta Gangga means the water of the Ganges and it is a site of great respect for the Balinese Hindus. Tirta Gangga is a labyrinth of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden with stone carvings and statues.
The complex was built in 1946 by King Karangsem, only to be destroyed 17 years later due to the eruption of Mount Agung. After which it was painstakingly rebuilt and restored, maintaining an air of authentic royal magnificence.
